D.O.G.’s Meeting
Leisa opened the meeting with a prayer for dad’s. We then went around the room for brief introductions of those attending. Leisa also read “What the role of dad’s are.”
Thank-yous were sent around from Mrs. Nedrow, Mrs. Hammond, and Mrs. Crosser.
Treasurer Report
The balance of funds available is $17,728.25. Since the last meeting we have paid out $7,400 for cabinets and $4,400 for clothing. Clothing purchases generate approximately a 10% revenue. An overview of the budget was made for the 2007-2008 school year. The school improvements and teacher requests paid out to date were; $2,500 for teacher stipends, $200 for directories, $1,500 for continuing education, and several other miscellaneous requests. This brought the total requests paid out this fall to $7,625. It is important to note that the teachers are appreciative and thankful of the new cabinetry! The cabinets look great and are very unobtrusive.
Sign-up forms were sent around for the following:
1. Volunteers are in need to help with the installation of the remaining 4 cabinets and new sinks. This would take place over the holiday break preferabley on a Saturday.
2. Volunteer dads are also needed to help serve at the Muffins with Mom 6:00 AM – 9:00 AM.
The Knights of Columbus are having their annual Christmas Party on December 9th, where everyone is welcome to attend. This includes a potluck soup supper, a visit from Santa, crafts for kids (to start at 2:00), and Christmas Caroling (to start at 4:00.)
Hope Cards are for sale at church before and after each Mass. 1% of purchases will go directly back into your child’s tuition account. Family members are welcome to use this service as a benefit to you and your children.
Leisa closed the meeting with “What a good Sacred Heart dad does.”
The D.O.G.S. meeting had a wonderful turnout! Post activities included Science fun in the parish center with Mr. Peiper during and after the meeting, Guitar Hero and other PSP games, concessions, fellowship, and basketball and football in the gym to top off a great night with dad!
Respectfully submitted,
Kim Bettenhausen
